Marie Antoinette was born on November 2, 1755 and died October 16,1793. She was the Queen of France during the French Revolution. She really did not do anything, but she was spouse of Louis XVI Marie, she was Queen of France, and she was the last Queen of France. She got married when she was fourteen years old. After her husband’s death, in July 1793, Marie Antoinette’s son was forcibly taken from her. In September 1793, Marie Antoinette was separated from her daughter and sister in law.
People know her as the women who heard that the peasants were starving because they had no bread, then she said "let them eat cake." You can say Marie was unpopular as a queen because her activities drew criticism and helped foment the dissatisfaction of the people, and that dissatisfaction brought about the French Revolution. People were jealous of her becasue she married King Louis. August 10, 1792, militants attacked the royal palace where Marie Antoinette and her family were being held and forced the Legislative Assembly to "suspend" the King. September 20, the new National Convention was convened, and two days later it voted to declare France a republic. From that moment on, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were no longer King and Queen, but, like many others, imprisoned citizens suspected of treason.
On October 14, she was awoken at night and she faced the Revolutionary Tribunal. The crowd saw an old hag rougly sheared her, with Marie's hands tied tight behind her back, while she rode in a garbage cart. Marie sat straight up with dignity. Marie was pushed on to the guillotine plank, her head placed in the vice and at noon the blade fell to loud cheers all around. The body of Marie Antoinette was left on the grass before being dumped in an unmarked grave
